Hi, I'm Samantha Tanner, the CEO and founder of Happy Maggy. My journey with acne started as early as I can remember, and by my teenage years, it had become a major insecurity. There were days when I didn’t want to leave the house or face the world if I had a breakout or even a single pimple. My first visit to a dermatologist happened when I was barely 10 years old. Over the years, I tried every medication, every topical cream. Then, at 15, I was prescribed Accutane, a powerful drug known for its ability to treat severe acne, but also infamous for its harsh side effects.

Being on Accutane didn’t just amplify my insecurity in the beginning, but it also introduced me to a whole new world of struggles—especially the relentless dryness, which hit my lips the hardest. I tried countless products, desperately searching for relief. Yet, nothing worked. Seven months later, I finished my first round of treatment, thinking that was the end of it. But two years later, I found myself back on Accutane. The side effects returned, and my dry lips became unbearable once again. I was constantly reapplying lip products for temporary relief that lasted maybe 10-15 minutes.

Fast forward a few years: at 23, I was facing my third round of Accutane. The thought was terrifying. I was exhausted from battling the same problems over and over again.
